hello friends.
This is what I would Like to say about step 2cs. " U should be a good actor/ Just have to act, apart from having basic clinical knowledge in order to capture this exam"
Gave on Nov7
passed jan 31st.

I studied about 20 days and once again UW rocks.
My materials : UW, FA & obviously usmletomd.com step 2cs tips-trick.

Regarding exam : It was a well balanced one covering all major systems. Almost all the cases 'ere from UW. There were 12 cases- first, 5 cases then lunch break(30min), then 4 cases, then 15mins brk then remaining 3cases and hoorray. Challenging Q's asked by SP's are nicely covered by FA and I experienced the same Q's in real exam. Most of the encounters I finished with 1 minute spared and utilised it for writing patient notes. I always wrote the dd's and Ix's first in the patient note, then would complete writing history and physical. Length provided to write in patient note is similar to that given in FA, so practice & practice writing patient notes in blank patient notes given in FA. As someone said, that If u ask PAMHUGSFOSS nicely & completely in every case u'll pass this exam and I believe the same.
They give very good orientation before the exam starts and try out the instruments- otoscope, ophthalmoscope, Bp instrument etc.. U just have learn how to manipulate these ones. U need not to be expert in using them.
I would say practice practice practice these cases rather than reading them and memorizing every now n then. I practiced about 30 cases and it helped a lot. I actually took a dummy exam, 2 days before the exam, which I created by setting alarms in my cell at every 15 and every 10 mins, like in the real exam. Started at 9'oclock sharp and completed around 3. This experience really helped me a lot and eased me in real exam. completion of the case(till counseling) is more imp than anything, even if u forget some stuff in asking history or some stuff in physcial exam. So complete every case in the exam.

* Prepare ur own talking pattern.
* get a partner or buddy and practice cases.
* lastly dont forget to KNOCK THE DOOR, SMILE, TELL SP's NAME CORRECTLY, DRAPE, SUMMARISE POSITIVE HIST POINTS, EXPLAIN POSITIVE PHYSICAL EXAMN FINDINGS, COUNSEL.

Thanks. ALL THE BEST.
