A 42-year-old woman with no significant past medical history is undergoing a routine physical examination. She states that she is excellent health, does not drink, does not smoke, and runs twice a week. On further questioning, she mentions that the running has become slightly more difficult lately. Radiographic analysis reveals that in the periphery of the left lung, there is a poorly defined mass. A biopsy is performed, which reveals a large number of mucin-containing cells with minimal atypia. No other lesions are seen either in the lung or other organs. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

(A) Adenocarcinoma of the lung
(B) Metastatic colon cancer
(C) Metastatic ovarian cancer
(D) Small cell carcinoma of the lung
(E) Squamous cell carcinoma of the lung
