at toxic doses asa causes respi center depression causing respiratory acidosis (decreased hco3 level),how it could be explained?

when considering a repiratory condition you never look at the hco3. The most likely scenario you will see involving asprin is a ph that is in normal range(maybe a little out), but with a a low hco3 (metab. acidosis) and a low pco2 (resp alkalosis) .

if you have metabolic acidosis and resp acidosis(very toxic levels), you will have a substatially lowered ph, elevated pco2 (resp acidosis) and decreased Bicarbonate (Metabolic acidosis).
