Dear Webmaster,

May I suggest you make it possible for us to view the pages offline? It used to be possible until day before yesterday..... Here in India, most of us use a dial up modem... not easy to read through all the posts with the phone on, not to mention the huge telephone bills. sad

What I used to be doing were to click on the pages and then view all of them offline. It saves time and money and energy grin

Hope we can do something about it. grin

Regards,
Jinesh.

Hi,
You can use an offline browser like WinHTTrack.
It makes an offline copy of the site you want using multiple active connections.

Regards!

i have been doing something that i feel you should know . I lived in india untill recently where most people have access to internet through dial-up which blocks the telephone line, and not to mention it is not very convenient if you are trying to view the website offline later. SO i suggest everybody that has a microsoft internet explorer use this strategy.

1. Go to the website/webpage you want to download.

2. while the webpage is open, click Ctrl+D which is a shortcut to put that page into your favourites folder.

3. after adding the page to favourites click on the tools tab and then click synchronise. You will see a list of pages that have been added as favourites to the browser.

4. click on the box infront of the page you want to synchronise and click synchronise.

5. Synchronisation will start and all the webpages clicked will be downloaded by the browser on your computer's hard disk to be viewed while offline as well.

Another method to do the same thing is as follows.....

1. Go to the website.

2. click favourites , add to favourites.....

3. At this moment you see a dialogue box.."Add to favoutite"

4. Click Make available offline

5. Click customise

6.Another dialogue box appears at this time which asks you whether you want to download the pages that are linked to this page and other pages that are linked to the page linked to the page in the browser...

Please excuse me for this highly geeky overhead transmission, but this really works..you can always ask me your querries through the forum, and i'll be very happy to help.

so let's continue ...

7. Click yes if you want to download links as well and mention the depth of the liks..( maximum of 3 depths )

8. Hit next and you'll see a question asking when you would like to synchronise. Don't create a schedule. and click in the "Only when i choose synchronise ........"

9. Again click next and enter your registration or subscription information to the relevant places and click finish. THis closes the second dialogue box and leaves you to the first dialogue box again.

10. Now click OK. THe moment you click is the moment download of the website in the browser starts. The syncronisation box can be minimised to near the right lower end near the clock.
it will be synchrinising your website even with no web page open.

Thank god i finished .....

If anybody has a technical difficulty, I'd love to help.

Good Luck Fellow doctors ( If anybody reading this is alive by any remote chance....hehhehe...smiling face)
