GIP
= glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide
only GI hormone released in response to fat, protein and carbs

  #5

Thats right, while the there may be other hormones that are stimulate insulin secretion, the main one, is Gastric inhibitory peptide ( aka glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide ).

as a correlation, what effect would the removal of the duodenum have on gastric motility and why?

  #6

postprandial diarrhea.
why - bile salts ?

  #7

There would be a large increase in gastric motilty, because the lack of the I cells of the duodenum. the I cells produce cck, and under physiologic conditions, are the only inhibitor of gastric motility. If you are searching for this fact in kaplan notes you won't find this exact line. Its something that the physiology q banks clarifys.
