Kaplan Qbank USMLE

I just received my step 3 score, I can't believe it I didn't pass...... I have to recognize that I didn't study hard enough, thinking that this will be the easier of all. Big mistake, I feel I did well in the CCS but the MCQs of the first day killed me, those are not straight forward questions, a lot of BS then a question not related to the vignette that only make you loose time. Although I didn't have any problem with the time while doing UW, in the exam the time just didn't see enough and I left like 3 or 4 Qs without answer in each block. Well that's water under the bridge, now I have to take it again and I going to prepare better MORE PEDS, ETHICS AND FAMILY MED. I got 183/74 just one point to pass it do you think there's any option if I ask for a score recheck?? How does it work?? What I have to do to have a score check???
Other question, if I want to do my residency under an H1 how late can I take the step 3, if I take it in March for example , could I get the score on time for the visa???
Thank you, and learn from me prepare well for this test

Hi Bull

I am so sorry to hear that / I think next time you can definitely pass.

How many ccs cases ended early in your exam?

  #3

can you tell me your other score. NBME. UW ?

I am sorry to hear that. I think you should have your score beofre April. anyone knows better?

NBME 414, 1 week before the test and UW 55-65% but only with 600 Qs. 6 of the 9 cases ended early.

I have noticed that actual test scores have not good correlation with NBME or UW scores. I think that the only thing to do is to study well and feel confident and go to the test, no matter what scores you get on UW or any other Qbank (but learn from these Qbanks).

Your NBME UW socres are great.

6 csaes ending early means your ccs is perfect!

If you take the exam asap, you will definitely easily pass.

I will do that, I felt before the exam, enough prepared to pass. The correlation with the NBME and UW in my case are bias because in the exam, as I said before I was running against the time, and that definitely affected my performance. I'm going to take a couple of weeks to review the high yield materials and take it again.

sorry to hear that, this seems unfair, with ur NBME & UW u should have passed. this is what i read on http://www.fsmb.org/usmle_elistep3.html
"- If you have taken the Step 3 previously, you may not reapply prior to 60 days from the date of the prior Step 3 administration.
- The USMLE program limits all individuals to three attempts at a Step within a 12-month period. You may not apply for a fourth attempt at Step 3 prior to the expiration of 12 months from the date of the first Step 3 administration."

i felt my exam did not go well today... and i agree with bull.. i was running against time

All and i quote all my blocks finshed at the last minute and my fist block.. i left 2 questions bcosof no time.... CCS went okay.... i mean my patients were feeling better and i knoew the diagnosis but apart form 2 never reched to the point of shifting to ward or discharge.

Lets see what happens
