dont worry, work on your test taking skill and reading the questions. read the first section of q book. It should help you find a routine and then work hard to make it happen.

Hi, I believe everything will work out just fine. Find out what your lowest subject is and work on that. you will able to pass next time since your scores are so high. I wish you the best.

I know sometimes you just get frustrated, how come there are smart people in harvard, yale, and you are having trouble. and sometimes you feel like william hung, you have already given your best try, how come the result is still not satisfying. I don't have any advice, but I know how you feel. Don't give up though.

My advice would be do some kind of a postmortem analysis- This is going to be tough and you might not want to face what you see- But if you want to do better I guess its necessary to know where you went wrong- Like somebody already suggested- have a look at the tips in kaplan Qbook-before the questions- Do a test aunder timed conditions and see what is going wrong Some possibilities: Time pressure- spending too much time on 1 tough question and rushing through the next 5 easy questions and making silly mistakes Not understanding the concept behind the questions- the questions will not be worded the same way in the real test as they are in the Q banks but they will test similar concepts Test anxiety- I know some friends who hardly slept before the exam and freaked out on test daybut when they answer the same questions later they seem to do fine Going through a bad phase overall in life during the test- sometimes all the stupid things seem like they happen the day before/during the test Try to recollect what topics were your weakest and work harder on them- also some people suggest not giving the step1 until you get a particular NBME score indicating that you are ready Best of luck

I too didn't make it my first time.....am scheduled to take the step 2 CS in a few weeks in Houston then back to Florida to take Step 2 CK in April.....Am finishing the Kaplan Review in Houston, have had good instructors and there seems to be a lot of step 1 stuff that was recovered......I hope that taking it in reverse proves successful, I had signed up for step 2 review prior to step 1 results being posted.....needless to say with my 167 I was disappointed, but not to be distracted......We start to post on a regular basis and will comment on my CS experience when I finish it.....any advice and suggestions will be appreciated.....
