- The results of linkage analysis for marker A and the NF-1 gene are shown below. What is the approximate genetic distance between marker A and the NF-1 gene?
- 0.1cM
- 0.5cM
- 1cM
- 10cM
- 30cM
plz explain as well!

it's 10cM LOD>3 means linkage 1% of recombination event = 1cM distance between genes

look at the LOD scores... the maximum LOD score is with recombination frequency of 0.1 ... this means that this is the RECOMBINATION frequency associated with the linked gene... 0.1 recombination frequency means 10% recombination frequency... 1% recombination frequency = 1 cM = 1Mbp distance on chromosomes 10% means 10cM

sureshrx; you can find it in Kaplan lecture note (biochem/genetics p. 371, 2006-7 edition)
