hi Everybody
we'll start new USMLE study group, the target is step 1 in late July starting on: 29/1/2007
the Ideal start is with Physiology (more or less 1 chapter/day)
the Ideal refrence is Kaplan Notes, with Q book
1/2 = chapter 1 physio
2/2 = chapter 2
3&4/2 = chapter 3
PLZ post ur achievement @ the end of the day, we gonna encourage each other 
waiting 4 UR suggestions..

hi everybody,
i too would like to join and post my updates.i am not sure which mcqs r u people doing.i want to do free ones since i cannot pay for my whole 6 months.
my day was too bad as i was not feeling well.i was dtermined to finish atleast 1 chap but since my kid was also not feeling well she wanted me to sleep by herside and so cooly i slept and i got up now and ontop of it today i have to go to dr .so i do not know how much i ca study today also.

hi peeps...
wat edition of the kaplan books is every1 using? i have the '06 ones.
just a suggestion- instead of giving ch no. y don't we give ch names, so every1 can follow accordingly.
as for my update... well i had started with physio last wk on tues- i took it real easy on tues. & my weekend was slow coz i had family stuff going on. i'm just abt to finish up renal. i'v been doing the end of ch mcqs. & i plan to do the 2 qbook tests once i'm thru' with physio.
abood, which mcqs u talkin abt?

I am using Kaplan physiology notes 2004-2005 version. Is it too old to study? Does anyone have a newest PDF version? Thanks a lot!

hey all.......
hope evey1's studying hard & sticking to the plan!
we really need to be motivating each other so that no one slacks.....
so how is every1 doing? as i said b4, i had started my physio preps already by the time i stumbled upon this grp. i'v finished all but endo - & thats taking forever for some reason.
my initial goal was to have finished off physio reading, reviewing & problem solving by the end of the weekend, but i'm kinda lagging behind my sechudle so lets c wat i manage to do in the next 2 days......
i'm not sure wat i'm going to start with next... maybe patho
wich brings me to the q.... wat resources is every1 using for patho?
kaplan only?
kaplan + goljan audio?
kaplan + goljan audio + goljan rapid review?
wats the best to do?
i don't have much knowledge abt free mcqs, but i do know there's a good deal going on at score95.com & it has a HUGE qbank wich is good to utilize while reviewing material.
kaplan qbank shud be saved till u wanna prep urself in test taking skills - i'd say june onwards
oh & abt kaplan editions - i'v got 06, gone thru 04 & its almost exactly the same. can't say anything abt the older ones, but i guess it shud be fine.
i just think since every1's using diff editions, maybe topic names or ch names shud be giving out rather than numbers so we all know wats going on.

Thanks, guys. I feel safe to use 2004-2005 version. I just knew that I can buy newest version (4 notes books) from e-bay which cost $ 30.00.
My rough study plan is following: I counted the pages from 7 kaplan note books. Total is around 2680 pages. If I read 30-40 pages each day, I will finish reading for the first time within 3 months (hopefully, I could do some questions too). Then I have to repeat my reading and try to remember as much as possible using another 2 months. The last month, I have to do more pretest practice and review all the subjects, especially my weakest subject. I think that I need to read the Kaplan review books. But it seems I have no time to do it. I don't know if it is enough to use Kaplan note books only because everyone wants to get higher score.
I didn't do well in the past days. I only finished section I (general topics) and II (excitable tissues). I hope I will finish section III (peripheral circulation) during the weekend.
I have to study hard. The important thing for me is not only to read more pages but also to remember them.

cool Sunlight: @ last I found a guy walking with me by the same rate,
ok by weeked I'll finish chapter III, MOnday is the start of chapter VI
BTW: no need to mention the chapter name, coz they R the same in any edition of Kaplan
I wish to find more guys read by the same rate to motivate ourselves

Hi Superabood and all members of study group,
I have a suggestion: as a study group, we should set a scheduled time to meet at least once a week on this website or MSN messenger. If someone has some questions, he/she can ask and get answers from others during this time. Even if not any questions, simply say hi to others of the group, which will let us feel warm and get strength because we have partners together on the same road toward the same goals. For example, every Thursday at 9:00-10:00 pm?

it really is confusing to have 2 threads to follow.... life is already confusing with step1 preps, it wud be a lot simpler if we din't have to worry abt where to PM too!!!!
