I have several qestions: 1. when we do the physical exam for lung and heart, do we need to do 2 positions-sitting and lying, or we only need to do 1 position? 2. for preemployment checkup, do we need to ask the history? 3. when we see a bruise on patient's body, can we palpate or touch on it? 4. when we write down the investigation on patient note, which order we use? simple to complex or based on priority? can anyone help me? even you know one of them, I will really appreciate.

if the case dmand two position i wud use two positions otherwise i wud do one position. i believe we shud examine the bruised area and palpate the area just arroudn the bruise and may be also bruise to but dont put pt in pain. yes we shud ask history in apt with pre employment chekup a qiuick review of systems i think we shud write the investigation in order of priority but from simple to complex. rectal and pelvic exam aadn cbcb comes first then order of prefrence from simple to cpmlex

muzammil, thank you so much, it really helps. regarding the positions, could you please give an example of the case which need 2 positions? Another 2 questions: 1. for checking anterior of the lung, in usmle world patient is in lying position, can we do it when patient is in sitting position to exam anterior of lung? 2. when we listen to the heart in mitral area, do we have to ask the patient to lie on his left side?
