I´m starting my prep to usmle step 1 any time soon. I am wondering which are the best books i should be using. I´ve graduated in 1999 and basic sciences knowledge is almost gone. I´ve Kaplan lecture notes from 2004, Q-bank and Q-book. Is it enough? Should I focus in other books as well? Another issue is time. I first thought about 3 months of studying, but - after some research - i think it might not be enough. Any advice? I´d really appreciate any guidance. TNA

Do Patho from Goljan only. Rest Kaplan is ok but you can do NA from HY. Mcq pool is ok, you may want to add USMLEworld in the end. 7 years old grad needs time I think 6 months minimum if on the contrary you had been a med school genius then suit yourself

To tnamaral: depends on what score you are aiming for. You can also read my post on how to prepare for Step 1. Link below. http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/34492

To aksdoc: Your preparation was amazing. It certainly took a great time commitment. I guess you studied 8 hours a day through out the 8 months... Am i mistaken? Unfortunately, I do have only 2 hours a day to study. I wish I had more, because acing the exam was my initial objective. What do you reccomend for me in order to get more than 95 in step 1? Thanks
