Hi, I am a 24yr old doc preparing for Step 2 CK and planing to give the exam in March Inshallah.

I need advice regarding something that no one yet knows about. For a few years i have been ignoring an irregularity around my urethral and vaginal orifice thinking it would go away on its own. But recently i have noticed that the mass has been increasing in size and changing its shape into a fungating type.

Being a doctor and knowing about all the different tumors of human body i am confused because i am still a bit young for a carcinoma of Vagina ,besides there r other risk factors involved in cevical and vaginal cancers (i am single and Virgin)

I am thinking now if i go and get done a biopsy today and it turns out to be cancer ,how in the world will i gather the courage to face that .And what will happen to our dream of having a residency in US. Me and my fiance have been planning all this from more than 2yrs now , living apart and working hard to achieve our goal so that we can get married as a proud couple..

so im sure anything can happen in this world ,but whats my risk of getting a cancer ?

May Allah guide Us All

Relax.

Adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas are found only in old women (more than 60). Clear-cell Adenocarcinomas are found in young women who were exposed to diethylsterbisterol in utero. DES was taken off the market in 1971. Since you are 24 years old, ur mother must have been pregnant with you in 1981-1982, about a decade after DES vanished off the face of the earth.

Diagnosis: Medical student syndrome.
Next step in management: Reassurance.

Hi!DOnt worry insha Allah, its nothing serious, we Drs are quick to reprimand our patients for not seeking attention ontime when they notice somethin odd,but its only when one has 1st hand experience that u can know how difficult it is to see a Dr.I once thot i felt a mass in my breast, and despite examing several patients with similar conditions in the hosptal,i just couldnt bring my self to see a Dr,the thot of being examined was just so scary, this was like 3years ago.Alhamdulilahi, i had a check up recently, and lo and behold, they were normal!so just pray and be sure to go for a check up.If u have had a mass for so long, its quite unlikely its somethin serious.Just make sure u see a Dr so u can put ur mind at rest and concentrate on your future plans.Wishing u al the best

Id say see a doc to:

1)relieve your anxiety
2)in case of anything -you prefer to be treated EARLY
3)also physicians make the worst patients-it may be nothing.

i 'd say either see a doctor right now or dont at all see a dr till the next day of ur exam. i m saying to see a dr now because if gynaecologist 'd hav said its nothing so u 'd b really feeling light n concentrate more on ur exam wid full zeal and zest. n if GOD forbid he said its something serious then u may b disappointed for sometime but then u wil b satisfied that u r taking required treatment for it n INSHALLAH it wil get better soon. so then u could also concentrate on test. from ur post i get a feeling u r a nice n intelligent doctor but if u keep studying wid double mind then u may not perform the best in exam that u want to. so i 'd say again either see a dr immediately or dont see a dr at all n leave everything to ALLAH ALMIGHTY. n believe HIM that he doesnt do anything bad to good people. by the way my exam is also on 28th march smiling face
best wishes for ur steps, residency n everything.
