so, just do it, the new kaplan bank is definitely more difficult. still not comparable with UW, right? What kind of score one should get in Kaplan bank, 70%? to get 90's?

Hi muzammil yes, I watched the kaplan dvd's for stp 2 ck. they r good. And for the complete details of the study materials I used for my prep---look into my previous posts in this thread. I will be glad to answer any other doubts. You can give stp 2 ck by june/ july, if u study full time. GL and Happy studying!

Hi webjeee Yes, Kap Q bank is almost as good as UW. I got 74 % IN KAP q BANK. I think a 70 % score in Kap Q bank should be good for a 90 plus on real exam. Before the exam--Study hard and then on the exam day--b cool and concentrated and after the exam---trust god and relax ! Have a great prep! GL!

In Reply to a P.M Dear friend---As you said, I am posting the reply here--- I think you r mistaken abt my steps from my previous posts!!!!!!! Anyways,I did not get 99 in step 1. I am a woman, not man & 99 was my score in stp 2 ck, not stp 1.I may not be the right person to advise abt stp 1 prep. But, I will say abt the methods I followed for stp 2 ck. 1) I first watched kap dvd's , then read kap notes and then UW, in a particular subject all in a sequence. While I was doing UW or reading kap notes, we ( my friend and me ) clarified each others doubts by discussions. lastly, kap Q bank and then nbme exams. 2)I some times used to record in my cell phone , some facts and figures that just needed lot of memorization and kept listening to them during free times. Also, I used the white board for the same purpose. 3)Method of answering Q---I would suggest you to read the test-taking strategies from the initial pages of Kap Q book 4) Q banks ---UW and Kap Q bank. use Q to analyse and interpret the concepts, which in turn will help u to understand and ace that topic. Hope this helps! GL for your steps ! just do it. My friend's post-----"Heartly congratulation for a 99in usmle step 1.u rocked the boards man.well my problem is this that i dont retain huge material like kaplan 7 books 500 pages each .i just dont understand how people remember everything in kaplan . how did u retained so much material -what was your technique of remembering things for long times? -what was your study style? I know i always ask this question to lots of 99ers but still searching that works best for me .i think that even if we read 10 times each kaplan passively i will not be able to retain well what is the technique u guys follows. 2) did u used kaplan dvd how did u used it 3)what was your method/approach of answering questions 4)what all qbank did u used I am frustrated that even after studying 8-10 hrs/day I do not perform well on examination. Please advise me on some tips that worked well for you. I am willing to try practically anything.''
