I don't read on this forum religiously, however, it seems that for the last few days or so, a lot of people have passed. I don't think that I have seen so many passing messages so frequently.
I am just wondering maybe they are giving easier questions now after they raised the passing score?
for those who read this forum often, is it usual that so many people are passing?

People who flunk are not posting I guess. Also, few candidates who get lower scores around 80s are also hard to find.

Yup, I've noticed that too. Its not only passing, Its getting better grades than the nbme scores...a lot of ppl nowadays r saying that the exam ws very easy or very doable.
I wonder if it'll still b like this till march

has it ever happened before in this forum? I don't think that I have seen so many passing messages.
so i just randomly clicked on a few pages, most pages have at least one failed or bad score message, and this one has none, i think.
maybe they are expecting shortage of physicians, so they are giving out easier questions now.

I think theories like this help decrease anxiety when step 1 seems such a monster and u start making up things . Some times I wonder how strange human brain is .... no offence.
Well the only reason more people here are posting their score is that this site is 99 % IMG based so it was this november , december span when most of us sat for exam so ............its nothing unusual people posting messages I PASSED .....
Dont worry when ever u will write step 1 ( either jan 2007 or jan 2008 or when ever ) exam will be the same .

I dont think that the tests are getting easier as ECFMG always maintains a certain level to judge IMGs. Neither they are expecting shortage of physicians,as, there are plenty of IMGs who already passed Step 1 & 2(CK+CS) and interviewing for different posts.This year I heard that a hospital recieved 1400 applications for 10 posts,though they are applying different hospitals at the same time. So, one reason could be passing more is the availability of information and the way of preparation taken by the examinees.as, the exam never let you go easily without judging you!!!!! Thanks.

I dont think "passing" was ever an issue for most FMGs; infact if you look at the official mle stats, they havent changed significantly. What has changed is the number of people who are scoring way higher than was previously possible - could be due to better review books, better Q banks etc and plain old hard work on the part of most test takers ..

It just possible that ppl. who are doing well are actually helping others to get better scores and hence the results. So i guess is ppl. are studying smarter..that's just it! And likeJAYand Old gave their reasonings....u can add up.U don't be bothered by that just pick up good info and press on. GL.
