Congratulations bikerdoc. I saw your post under exam exp.
I m in a lot of pressure lately! I am doing UW in a tutormode. How many times should I revise UW? Appreciate your response.

Hey Ing thanks for the good wishes and the same to you 2

Hi Kity lemme try and answer your questions:

1. The length of the real test questions was never an issue for my test. In fact most blocks I usually had time to review about 5-10 questions that I had marked earlier except the last two blocks that I was so exhausted that i was always seeing double....but still time was never a factor. I am usally a fast computer reader and I did not find even the UW questions to be too big. But if you HAD to compare I think the real test was pretty doable....well at least in my case....there have been others with differing experiences.....the bottom line is no two people will prolly have the same experience and I think you should prepare for the worst.

2. I had made notes from UW almost one liners of principle behind each question both right and wrong. You can say i almost made a text out of the answers from UW (its almost 100 pages long)....lol.....if it wasnt for copyright issues I might prolly hand it out to people. So that is what I revise while sitting in my loo and lying in bed and basically everytime.

3. I did the UW and Kaplan always in the tutor mode.....I revised UW main principles about two-three times I think but its difficult to say because I was reading IT ALL THE FRIKKIN TIME....:-))

4. I cannot comment on the differences between 2003 and 2006 ed of Boards and Wards....but if I were you i feel safer with using the latest version......just mentally keeps me at peace.....not that medical therapeutics changes that much in a few years.....but you never know. I also know USMLE will not test changes in medical knowledge that is less that 2 years old. In other words they will not test you on stuf that is still experiemental......only well established therapeutic measures are tested so you should be fine if you are studying from a two year old book.....but thats just my opinion.....I aint no expert.....just an ECFMG certified IMG....LOL...
