Hi! Thanks for your reply. I have graduated in Olomouc in 2004 and I moved to the US in 2006. Last week I took Step 2(it was quite a challenge since I didn't have any study partners) and now I am anxious to get the results. I haven' t taken Step 1 yet - so I will need some advice on that. How about you? How far are you? I'm very happy to hear from you!

I've been to Prague and Ruzemberok (I know that I spelled it incorrectly, but it was many years ago). Does that count?

Prague is great. isn't it? I have never been to Ruzomberok. Just let me know if you know any czech or slovak graduates who want to get certified in the U.S.

Wow, I had no idea they are so many people fond of Cz rep. and Prague! Yes ,Prague will forever have a space in my heart. Blizkonebe - like your name. Karolina - I'm planning to take the step 1 during the summer. You can find out more about my preparation in mine journal. Great you did step 2 after the graduation ( I missed that chance ) ! I'm sure you did fine, even without the partner. Enjoy your time back home, and keep in touch once you come back and start to study seriously. For how long are you going ?

Hey bbb , how did you get to Ruzomberok ??? I love the montains of Slovakia. You would not believe how everything changed over there. Even the Prague is not the same how it was before comunism. I lived there for almost 10 years, and now when I visit Prague and Slovakia once in the year, I stay astonished with all the changes, especially in Prague. Unfortunatelly in Slovakia even with backwards ones.

Hi Good Girl: I got to Ruzomberok via the road from Prague. In 1991, my friend that I traveled with, her father was born in Slovakia - Ruzomberok, and I went to there. We travelled from London to Paris, through Germany to Prague, then spent 4 days in Ruzomberok staying with her cousin and family (who spoke no English). As difficult as it was, it was a great stay and I still exchange Easter greetings with the family. I know they thought that we we rich, but we stayed at small "zimmer frei" (room to let) in most of the cities - bought our lunches at bakeries and travelled cheap. It was cheaper to fly to London, rent a car and drive - than it was to fly to Frankfort or Paris and drive. In fact, I received my only speeding ticket just outside of Prague - and I still love that city!

Hi Karolina. good luck for your step2 CS. it's a very tough exam for IMG's because our system of study is completely different. I graduated from LF3 UK in 2002. I started my residency i IM in June 2006, I live in Boston. The best study material for step2 CS is USMLE world. It includes all the cases you can meet on step2CS. Don't worry you feel bad about exam, everybody does. Also it really depends where you took the exam (the worst test centers are in LA and in Atlanta). if you have any questions to me, feel free to ask. good luck, S

Hello Karolina, all I can say is I wish you a good luck with your score, and try not to stress over it right now. What I read in many posts, it is very normal to have flashback. I know it must be scary feeling, but nothing you can do right now. You will see, soon you will have a nice vacation, with the feeling of a great accomplishment.Right now, it's all just the matter of time. I have noticed, you visited my journal. Take care. Hello bbb, It sounds like a great european journey ! A speeding ticket ? I almost got one, also just outside of Prague, we just talked out the police man. Nice to read the stories like that, mostly in this '' usmle rush'' I forget about my past and traveling experiences. It is sad..... feel good to talk about homeland.

Just feel so homesick today, I guess it's all aggravated by this sunny summer day. Wish I could forget about the whole usmle circus just for one day, and was able to stroll in the streets of Prague.

Hello Karolina and GoodGirl! I am from Slovakia, but I studied in Prague(2nd faculty), graduated in 2006. Are you still preparing for exams? Good to know that someone else from home is doing the same "crazy"thing as I am .
