I got score today, 225/91, not a great score compared to so many 99 here. But I am happy that I will move to setp 2. I didnot do well in behavior, so behavior is crucial if you want a high score. I will post my experience later. Thanks for all supporting this forum and sharing experiences.

congrats on a great score,

so what kind of topics do you think I should focus on for the behavioral section? were the questions straight forward for behavioral if we have the content memorized. any insight would be great, as i'm weak in this section as well. thanks.

Thanks mona1976, 250orBust, MRMAVERICK, Dinie.
I, FMG, graduated in 2003, began lab work in 2004. I decided to take exam in 2004 and started to reading in 2005 spring. usually 3-4 hours/day, stop reading in summer for 2 monthes, 7-8hs/day 1.5 monthes before exam. full time study 1 week before exam.
materials I used:
kaplan home study set (2 volumes): kind of wasting time
high yield: ana, embro, neuro, his, beha, psy, good for those dont have much time like me.
BRS phys: wasting time
goljan pathology(book & audio): great for step 1, must have
FA 2004&2006: must have
Qbank: did 1 time, 65-70% in the beginning, later 70-80%
NBME: dont have time to do it
UW: did not do
Exam:
1, 2 Block easy
3,4 average
5, 6 very hard, I had half questions marked but did not have time go back
7 easy
i have 10-15 min left for each block except 5,6 which i almost finished by the last min.
the questions were very similar to Qbank. so if u did Qbank very well, there is no need to worry. the questions were mixture of everything. about 1/3 were very simple, extremely straight forward, although sometimes the questions were very long. 1/3 were very hard, i never saw them in any materials i used, so i just chose the answers by my feeling, the left 1/3 were equal to Qbank. i had 70-80% path, few ana, his and embro (1-2 q per block), lots of cell biology which made me crazysad
they asked lots of stuff related to mechanism, pathway... 5-10% micro and immu, 5% genetic,5% pharma, 5% bioche, 5% behavior. I did not do well in behavior, actually it was the worst part, but I did not feel such bad during test. they asked children develop, adolescence, aging, psy, drug abuse.. almost everything, but most of them were about physician-patient relationship like what is the best to do in what case... there are several figures in each block, either CT, x-ray or his slides, u need to relate the different part to proper functions.
suggestion:
chose the right materials to start, make study schedule tight, do qbank twice at least (i wish i could do so) and NBME if possible.
good luck for all who are preparing step 1 and see you all in setp 2.

Hi, 250orBust,
they asked me several straight forward qs like which drug best for which psy dis, side effect of anti-psy drugs, signs of drug abuse, but there were many qs about physician-patient relatioin which i felt very tough. the qs were very long and options were very tricky. if i could spend more time on FA and highyield behavior, it would be much better.
