I knew that Labetalol is Beta and Alpha blocker,but I did not know why I need an Alpha block in this case? Can you explain me? Thanks in advance!!!

actually i also selected propranolol as the answer ...but the answer is labetalol.Its a Q from BSS. The explanation given there was ....labetalol since it acts also on alpha receptors would be more safer than propranolol, there won't be much problem with controlling the effects on B.P. I couldnot get it....since i know that we can give propranolol or lidocaine for dobutamine overdose. If anybody would like to explain it i would appreciate .
