Hi, I just had step 1 last monday had a short but very nice break. Can't afford to rest any longer since I hope to apply this year. Thought I would start today. I plan to give 3 months. Will use Kaplan as main source. Didn't have a regular routine to prepare for step 1. So thought I would use prep journals to keep track this time.
Best of luck to every body out there striving for this hurdle.

Well, thought I would start but my kids had other plans. Both got sick and at home for 2 days. Thank goodness they are better. May be I needed a little longer break!
Just made the schedule.
First read:Kaplan with q bank
internal medicine 14 days
start by revising cardiovascular and respiratory physio from step 1 which I'm sure I didn't do well
Pediatrics 10 days
surgery 10 days
Gyn and Obs 10 days
Psychiatry (my favorite) 10 days
Preventive medicine 10 days
Second read (kaplan with UW and first aid)
internal medicine 10 days
surgery 7 days
Paed 7 days
psychiatry 7 days
Thats it for now. Keep making adjustment as I go. I will revise CVS phys today.

Glad you asked. I'm getting unplanned breaks all the time. After two years we met someone from family for the first time(I'm an IMG). My sister-in-law and her family are with us for a week. We are overjoyed and its perfect time for us to have time off from our routines. I still stick with listening to one IM lecture a day.

Well. The carnival is over. Back to life. Worked for 2 days. Finished listening to 8 internal medicine lectures. Should finish reading cardiology section by tomorrow.

Finished cardiology section. It felt easier since I'm still fresh from step 1 and listened to the lectures. Moving onto pulmonology today.

finished hematology and moved onto gastroenterology. should finish listening to hematology lectures today. Waiting for OASIS update to subscribe for UW.

Finished endocrinology. subscribed to UW so that use questions on the go.

finished rhematology and preventive medicine. Starting UW today.

I went wild with my step 1 score! took the week end off and played with kids in the snow and got a sore throat. Started with Qs todays.

completed first UW block; random, timed. 58% i guess its not bad for a start. Must finish 1 more block today.

Wow Congratulations !
Today only I got to know your score. After one and half months today I started studying for the step two and just happened to have a look at on this forum. Time is running. I too need to apply for 2008 match, and need to do step 3 as well for H1B, but here I'm struggling with a new born.
Good luck to your prep. I will try to keep in touch, but I'm sure my studies will not be regular and I wonder when I can do the exam.
