Hi guys, i am going to appear for the CS visa shortly. i have a question though: in the EVAF application form for NIV visas (B1/B2), there is a section where we have to write the "place" where we are going to stay while we are in the US. since i have no one in there, i will probably go to a hotel, etc. but since the exam is almost 6 months ahead, i don`t know which hotel i am staying in. what should i do? is it fine to write "a Hotel" when filling out this form or should i leave it blank? in their website, they mention that all sections have to be completely filled out or i might lose the appointment and have to reschedual it!! i really am scared of this visa stuff
your help is highly appereciated. thanks.

Well They will question you firstly that If CS is 6 months ahead, why do you want to go so early! Be ready for it!
secondly give the complete address of any hotel where you plan to stay! YOU DON"T HAVE TO MAKE ANY RESERVATIONS UNTIL YOUR VISA IS APPROVED! So giving the address is easy, but the question is how are you goingto afford to stay in a hotel for 6 months? when u are not allowed to work. think about it!

thanks alot pryagrove for your hints,
actually i am not going there now! i am just going for the interview as far in advance as possible (as they say in the embassy website) just to make sure i get the visa in time. they say it takes somewhere between 3-4 months! i am just pkanning to stay there for a week or so.
but is it feasible to write down a hotels add. even though i don`t have a reservation in? do they check it with that hotel? do you guys know any good online hotel reservation sites? most of these site i have been to, charge you in advance for the reservation. while i am not even sure i `ll get the visa, you know...
thanks for your helps alot.

go directly to the hotel websites. They won't charge you in advance (not pre-paid). But you have to have CC ready.

ITs clearly stated while filling forms DS156,157, that before your visa is not confirmed DONOT CONFIRM YOUR TRAVEL PLANS, by that they mean You don't have to buy an air ticket or reserve a hotel(by paying money) unless you are granted a visa. When i was asked to fill in the address of my place of stay, I did fill in the address, because I plan to stay there, IF given a visa. BUT YOU DON't HAVE TO SPEND THE MONEY making a reservation UNLESS YOU GET THE VISA! Visa officers completely understand this. & if asked you can say I will confirm my travel plans after visa approval. ___________________ "Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes."
