- Which muscular dystrophies are commonly associated with cardiomyopathy or cardiac rhythm disturbance?

-Which inflammatory myopathies are associated with an increased risk of underlying malignancy?

- What's the most common inflammatory myopathy in patients older than 50 years? what are the muscles that are typically involved in this myopathy? and what's the treatment?

- Name 2 or 3 drugs that could cause toxic myopathy ?

1. Duchhene muscular dystrophy
2. polymyositis
3. myesthenia gravis, ocular muscles r 1 st to be iovolved , muscles of mastication, muscles of swallowing , etc

4. statins , ? halothane (not sure) , ?procainamide

the myopathies involving cardiac muscle are duchenne muscular dystrophy and myotonic dystrophy.
inflammatory myopathy associated with malignancy is dermatomyositis.
the inflammatory myopathy is patients of more than 50 yrs age is IBM, in addition to proximal muscles it involves distal muscles,facial muscles,quadriceps and psoas.Treatment is corticosteroids and this is the inflammatory myopathy with poor prognosis among three.
Drugs causing myopthy include AZT, Penicillamine,Chloroquine,Statins,Bile acid binding resins,Steroids, Procainamide etc.
