For those of you who already took the exam, which part of first aid do you think that is the weakest which require some extra reading from other books?

i recommend you read everything from other books, i found it useful for pharmacology, and maybe for pathology, theres a table with drugs for helminths that is worth your attention, but other than that too little information for the actual exam. this is just a personal oppinion, that comes from my experience, yet i know most people think it is a great book. best of luck

yes, i tried to read the other books, however, then i realize that i can't possibly remember everything. that is why i am thinking that i should try to remember everything on first aid, then read some other books that first aid is weak at.

well, i studied mainly from first aid. but that was after going through kaplan twice. however, i still studied physio from kaplan and pathology from goljan. i find that first aid is definitely lacking in these two fields. good luck!

I would suggest that you study everything from other books as well. Then maybe use first aid for nemonics and sometimes some missing components. Its not only lacking but at some point, they have tried to round numbers and make thinks easier that often shouldnt be . Kaplan is the best source, then supplement kaplan with a little high yield in anat, embry, maybe histo and you have a winnning combo. + a verry littly first aid

I had the exam last week. In my opinion, First aid is an excellent book for rapid review just before exam. It is strongest in anatomy (excluding neuro), micro and pharm. After the exam, I went through my first aid marking questions I got in each section. Amazingly, most of the facts were there. But believe me you can't answer most of the questions unless you have read outside and have a good understanding about what it is all about. hope this helps.

First aid's most advantage is the last two or three week revision, cuz it helps you remind stuff that u have already read from kaplan and other sources but it should not be the only book you study cuz it doesnt help you make concepts.rather its a revision of what u have studied and want to revise in the end.hope this helps.
