Hi to all: I have only 1 month and 10 days remaining in my CK and have not studied anything d/t serious family issues. Can please someone tell me how to proceed from now. I cannot study for more than 5 hours as I still have same issues....Unfortunately I already exteded it once so I cannot extend it......please please help me. I want serious help. I already passed step I and CS only this part is remaining and I dont want to be fluncked in that......please please help me.......I need serious advice...........Should I go through FA and USMLE world/qbank/qbook only or Kaplan or Blueprints are necessary????????This could be a silly question but I cannot understand really what to do???????Please advice.......thanks alot

Yours is a tough situation but on the positive side u could think that u still have 40 days in hand to take the exam .Now given ur family issues its going to be tough but heres what i think u could do
1.First just pick up all the kaplan notes u have and try evaluate for urself where u stand now....subjects u have read,not read,are confident abt,weak areas.
2. dont neglect internal medicine...do it well.Psychiatry shld go fast as u have read it all in step1....u could try and combine paeds and med together
3. surgery read the initial chapters on trauma and resucitation,gen surgery well and go thru the rest of the stuff...read only the vignette portions of each chapter as both are the same..
4. According to me(i maybe wrong) after the exam i thought that the subjects in order of importance would be MEDICINE,PSYchiatry(long cases),paeds on top priority followed by surgery and gynaec which had an equal no of questions.In the exam everythng is tested so dont leave any subject but u could use the above as a guide on what u shld read more.
5. Also i think doing uw now will be very useful but for that u would have to give more than 5 hours to read up kaplan notes and also to do uw questions everyday.Read each subject and do the questions from uw,also read the explanations well from uw as that will cover all the topics.
6 just stick to one set of notes(kaplan is very good),do lots of questions(uw is essential and if u have time qbook),be strong with medicine U try ur best an leave the rest to god .He will surely help solve ur problems and score high in the exam.all the best

thank you soo much gv5. I am trying to do the same now as I have no option. I really have no option given my family issues....I know I am not too weak to surrender. I have to do it and I'll do it. Thank you sooo much. It really gave me very positive feeling and I am ready to fight...........Thanks
