keloid is notorious for recurrence so surgery is not very effective or say definitive..... cant say about laser i`ll go with inraleisonal steroids , as i `d treated the pt in similar Rx

tx for keloids is difficult, I think there isn't one best therapy. - excision (surgery) followed by intralessional steroids can be a good management.

I would answer 3 if this were an exam. my previous answer was based on a general surgery textbook (greenfield).

This is the question on my MCCEE test. I chose intralesional steroid. I am not so sure. But think about: If do surgery, that will be more scar tissue comes out. Now, I am checking Toronto Notes. Here is the treatment listed on there: 1. intralesional steroid injection. 2. cryotherapy. 3.silicone compression.

Surgery..definitely no..LASER is usually used when intra lesional steroids sometimes causes increased vascularity and reddening..I'am not sure about this one!! Intralesional steroids would be the best out of 3..

I would choose surgery although I know this is not a cure since it will grow again from the surgical scar. I guess, surgery is chosen when the lesion is big and causes ethetic problems or pain, other than those I wouldn´t touch it.
