amyl nitrite and mitral stenosis murmur

I do not understand why amyl nitrite will make mitral stennosis murmur louder?

According to the Kaplan DVD lecture, any cause of decrease of preload will decrease the murmur of mitral stenosis. I know that amyl nitrite can decrease both preload and afterload. Can someone help me to understand this?
