Every program is going to have different items in their contracts. It's not a question that can be generically answered.

if u need H1 step 3 has to be passed. its law. it wont be mentioned in the contract.

the contract does not say abt the visa.. ur PD or PC may have mentioned the kind of visa they are offering.... it depends on what individual program says when they offer prematch....
In my case: I signed the prematch and after discussing with the PD.. am taking step 3 on 1st FEb.... if i pass ( hopefully), they will sponsor H1 after match ranking.... if I dont pas.. i will start J1 paperwork with ECFMG...
