It is my first day studying, and I started with Internal Medicine. Kaplan will be my main source, and my plan is to read the whole book once, and then do some questions to see what section needs to be review more deeply in the second round of reading. I expect to take the test in June. Hopefully I will be able to read the books at least 3 times, along with the videos of the center. My best wishes to all of you participating in this forum, and God will reward our hard work and sacrifices with a great score!!

Thanks Molly. It takes a lot of self-motivation to keep the pace day after day, I know it from my experience with step 1. I started this journal as a way to keep records of my progress. The first day went great, I read the whole chapter of GI and the beggining of Endocrinology. I am finishing endocrinology today, although my housewife duties will keep me busy too (laundry, grocery shopping). What test have you already taken? Have a good one!

A lot of people in this forum says that the q-bank of usmleworld.com is better than Kaplan's for step 2, and it is also cheaper. I have not check it out, but I thought I would give you the info anyway. Take care

Well, it is a cold lazy Friday here, but the plan for today is to read 3 chapters: rheumatology, Preventive medicine and emergency medicine. Hubby has plans for the weekend : basketball game and some truck show. I am going with him, but I have promise to myself to keep the pace up!! Hope everybody have a nice and productive weekend !

I am starting the Hematology chapter today. It has been helpful to keep track of my progress with this journal, although I am only in my first week. It feels like having somebody cheering for me and pushing me.... and it turns out to be myself! To anyone studying for Step 2 CK, best of luck and stay strong with your eyes fixed in the goal.

My first day off will be today. I am finding Internal medicine so easy to read that I am suspicious. I am guessing that as soon as I start doing questions i will face reality.

Is this test easy? I am almost done with internal medicine-first round, and I decided to take a 50 questions test this morning. Got 78% right, wich I think is pretty decent, considering that I am planning to read each book at least 3 times. I am just a little uneasy because the questions don't seem too hard, but hey, I would not mind if the real test turns out to be like that!

hi, its really great that you completed your first reading of medicine. You seem to be highly motivated. I wish to write exam in may/june. I'm also enrolled as a full time student in masters program. But i'm willing to manage 4-5 hrs per day for step2 study. How many hours do you study? I'd like to co ordinate study with you. Is it possible to keep in phase with you with only 4-5 hours of study?

hi! you are right, I am totally motivated to score high on this test. I think we can encourage each other to pull it off by may/june. Did you take step 1 already? I am going to take CS afterwards. I am studying about 5 hours at day, reading an average of 30 pages/day. I am planning on taking tomorrow just to do questions and read answers (that worked for me on step 1). On thursday I wil start surgery. Let me know what your plan is, and I will keep you posted too!

hi cristinacol, thanks for the reply. Well i'm done with my step 1 and taking CS in april (so that i can get certification by September) n CK in may/june. As I said I can invest 4-5 hours a day in evening for CK prep. 30 pages a day would be just fine target for me too. May be we can motivate each other by keeping same study pace ( rather you'll be my motivation). I haven't yet started but I realize that i need to study consistently for good score. I'll start with surgery according to your plan. I'll cover up the medicine part during weekends. So what is your main resource? I have only Kaplan notes, FA and Crush.

ok, I can do Psychiatry, but let me tell you, you will be surprise once you start reading that kaplan book of Internal medicine, it is sooo simple after studying for step 1. I am also using kaplan notes, but today I am going to do some questions, so Psych probably will start tomorrow for me. Let me know at the end of the day about your progress, and good luck!

Below-freezing morning, just perfect to start Psychiatry. This book should be done in 1 week, since it has less than 200 pages, and I am including the Super bowl day (I will be cooking for my husband, not actually watching the game). Yesterday took some more IM questions and they got a little harder, which is good, don't wanna get overconfident and blow the ck. Ok, less chit-chat and more study!!

Although till now its only 21 pages (tried to mug up charts in developement). But still its a good start for me...Will try to catch up soon as i'm on for few more hrs..
