MRS.MARY.J. buchanan , 30 years old lady,wife of an army officer is brought to you for fever,by her daughter THERESA. army officer' stayed back home as he has his guests.on examinationpatient appeared malnourished, disheleved and malodorous.she has a couple of bruises on her back..one of the lenses of her spectacles is broken. physician immeidately suspected abuse.what is the most appropriate action a physician can take?

guys, if it is elderly abuse arent you supposed to report it? I thought both paeds and elderly abuse, you should report it unlike spousal abuse where you leave the decision to report it with the patient.
And well, probably a typing error only, because 30 years cannot be that old can it? probably it is 80 years?

there is no typing error there. theresa is 12 years old, and her mother is 30years old. spousal abuse is not mandatorily reportable. treat her and counsel here. tell her what are all the avenues where she can find help
