Hey guys ,

What country are you coming from ??? This is a free country , males and females have the same rights >
I think the only fields that are exception are Orthopedics and urology , that are mainly male specialties.

hey Vic, are you sure that male and female have the same rights in this country (or whatever country) ? sticking out tongue

I just pray my Lord not to end up in programs with people with this type of mentality . Yes , in the western countries women do have the same rights . The difference , is that the genders must accept that they are differents , not competitors, ok??
But this thing that women can just go to women OBG is ridiculous . In my country , just ignorant people think like this . Actually , there was a research done and women prefer to go to male OBGs than women OBGs .
And let's stop with this gender issue , this forum is for the US residency and if you read in any contract prejudice and discrimination is against law.

is it real that every ObsGyn program will need 6 monthes experience?

I heard a good news for OBGYN prospectives:

Due to insurance problems, OBGYN now is easier to get in.

In 2005, it was easier than IM (based on ratio of matched/failed).

I heard this when attending a Kaplan workshop.

They said that OBGYN salary is high, but malpractice insurance is high also, and the job is busy. A term pregnant woman may call you at midnight.

That's why the number of applicants apply to this field decrease.

i heard the same as robin...
especially in the big cities the demand for OBs are very high!

that would be good news for 2005

but I think in 2006 the competition got a lot tighter, people with good scores in this forum didn't match and the percent of filled positions was very very high so....I don't know if it is really easier to get in....I would hope so though
