I'm exhausted but I need to put this down while I remember them. Whatever the result is I'm happy its over.

It was tough but doable. About 5-10% of questions were very hard. Others were similar to Kaplan Q bank and NBME. Some were lot easier than that. In most of the questions they give a long stem and ask a very basic fact. I had 2-3 minutes left at the end of each block.

Major part of my exam was path and pathophysiology. I can't overemphasize the importance of path and phophysio.

Neuroanatomy, pharm (esp autonomic and antimicrobials), micro, immunology, molecularbiology were heavily tested. Several questions on signal transduction, second messangers. Lot of schematics and CTs, gross pictures for neuro. However most of them were basics. I missed lot of basics in renal physio.

Single most important tool for me was Goljan audios and notes because they helped me retain facts better. Kaplan videos on Pharm and biochem and Q bank were very useful too.

I won't write about my prep since my studing was very erratic and kind of did things in reverse.smiling face But I would be happy to answer any questions and wish to thank this forum for all the encouragement and support I received.

Wish u 99....................................What about nbme test. How much kaplan cumulative q bank?

hey dinie,

congrats ur done.
you said there was a lot of pathophysiology on the exam so i was wondering if you think just knowing the path from goljan would be enough in answering these kinda questions? what resources did you use for pathophysiology in particular compared to the pathology ones? or anything to prepare for these pathophysiology type questions? thanks.

Thank you both of you.smiling face

I did kaplan Q bank (timed, random blocks) with 72% average. Took NBME form 3 one week before exam and had 570. My weekest ares showed as pharm, resp and CVS. Worked the following week on them but didn't make much improvement.

I think if you can go through Kapalan audios while folllowing his notes, it is more than enough for path and pathophysio. His questions are excellent guides too.

Sorry it meant to be Goljan audiossmiling face

Best of luck, Dinie !!!
have you done UW Qs ?
Thanks

Thanks. I haven't seen UW. But if you are thorough with Kapalan Q bank, I think it is more than enough. My worry is about simple basic facts I missed (unfortunately which are plenty:nosmiling face. I wouldn't bother about toughest 5% which I may get wrong no matter how hard I try.
