Can anyone explain or give any references of the mechanism of posttetanic facilitation with tubocurarine and phase II succinylcholine?

Thanks

Nondepolarizing relaxants can also block prejunctional sodium channels. As a result of this action, muscle relaxants interfere with the mobilization of acetylcholine at the nerve ending. So,in blockade produced by nondepolarizing muscle relaxants, when the effects are surmounted by ACHE inhibitor, first there is tetanic stimulation, by releasing a large quantity of acetylcholine, and then follows transient posttetanic facilitation (ie, relief of blockade) of the twitch strength (since there is decreased Ach in nerve endings).

In Phase II of depolarizing blockade, effects change from continuous depolarization to gradual repolarization with resistance to depolarization ( and depolarizing drugs act like non-depolarizing), so channel block may become more important than agonist action (like non-depolarizing ones) ~ and we can see post tetanic facilitation in Phase II.
