What are the implications of a new program with a provisional accreditation?? What happens if one matches into such a program? The program already shows promise af being a good program as it was formed due to a rift with its parent institution. Is it safe to rank such a program? What are the various things and factors I have to pay attention to regarding such a program?

i think it would depend on the stability of the program. Most programs get 3 year accreditation and if everything is good will get 5 years next time. but bbb would be the best person to answer

Can't answer that - provisional isn't a bad or a good thing. Can the PD tell you what he is doing to improve the program? Do you like the answers? How long is it provisional? What does your "gut" tell you.
