Dear bbb
An email from ecfmg reporter says that candidates applying for the 2008 match should have taken CS by August 2007. Please let me know if they should have taken CK too by that time. By what time would you recommend the completion of all the steps for the 2008 match? I'm very, very hard pressed on time. Please help bbb, please help.

I can't think of 2008 right now, I am trying to complete 2007 interviews. That's a pretty close estimate to strengthen an application as you want to have your ECFMG certification early rather than in this time next year. Many programs want you to be ECFMG certified to apply.

the IDEAL situation would be to be done by both by July
[testing not scoring]
that is IDEAL but all dont make it and still get thru

This is the thing thay they recommend, and it is a good idea to have all documents ready before ERAS starts, I mean ECFMG certificate.
And also, there is high load of demand from Sept through Dec for CS exam.
So, if I were you, I would schedule a date in Jun or July to secure my place. if you could not make it, you could change without any charges 14 days ahead of your schedule.
