Interviewed yesterday at Maimonides, peds and got prematch offer today. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really liked the program but I need people of this forum, the moderators, the guru, the newbies, etc. to give me advices on that since you have helped me so much since I started this process. I owe a lot of what I've achieved to this forum. Living in Italy, it was very difficult to have all the imputs and the secrets to prep all the steps and to survive the match nightmare. Everything I know, I took it here. NOw I need you to give me the last imputs. What do you think about this offer?

Congrats wamba. I think you might do better asking yourself. Will you be happy doing peds( if thats not your first choice of subject) in Maimonides( great place) and where do you expect to go from there.I guess thats the order in which I would list my preferences- subject, location and prospects. All the best.

Tx for your reply

well, I apologize for not haven been more precise. But I interviewed in both Paeds and IM at the same hospital. Got prematch in Paeds. I'm not committed to one specialty. I have never been. Maybe this is my weakness but the thing is a love the whole medicine. I love taking care of diabetes, asthma, HIV, heart failure, etc. I love taking care of everything. This is why paeds and IM are the same to me (and maybe I sllightly prefer paeds, 51% for paeds and 49% IM).

thank you very much people, If I get an H1, will my wife be able to work? What kind of visa will she get?

  #11

congrats wamba, if you prefer slightly peds, it's even better, maimo is a great program. nod

  #12

congrats wamba...maimonides is a good hospital.

your wife will get an h4 visa if you get an h1: the sad part is that she cannot work on an h4. What she can do though is find an h1 sponosoring job herself: which may be easy or difficult, depending on what field she is in..

anyways, party tonight....you can worry about the visa and stuff from tomorrow...:-)
