hi all !

I have applied in 60 programmes, got rejection mail from about 30 programmes, no interview call till date, my score was step1(83)/ck-78 awaiting step2cs 2nd attempt result, visa needed, 8 yrs post graduation, 6yrs surgery and medicine experience in home country.

can anyone suggest what to do?

Is there any chance of getting residency this year or in future??shaking headshaking head

there is always a chance .If you dig up this forum then you will find amazing success stories of people who defied all odds and got what they wanted

.Your credentials are not stellar but at the same time are not abysmal .You have good experience which will be looked upon favourably by many .You could spruce up your cv by getting some usce and getting uslors. Do step 3 and give it your best .Door is not closed yet .Jesus didnt want you to give up so soon .

OK...here in the US, the most important think is connection...it's more about who you know than what you know. For this year may be it's a little bit to late to get into residency if you don't have any interview till now.
BUT...for the next match in 2008, be prepared...get an observership in a hospital which has a residency program. Try to make a very good impression, friendly connection to key physicians there, esp the one in the residency comittee or PD. If they are impressed by your attitude and other positive characters, I will bet that at least you will get an interview there and with highly likelihood get admission to their residency program. And of course they are willing to give you LOR for your application too. So..try it nod
