Hi All, Can any one tell me - Q. What type of of hypersensitivity reaction (hs Rxn) is used for Subacute & Chronic type of Graft verses Host reaction (GVH Rxn)? For Acute type of GVH Rxn we know being preformed antibody used; it is type II hs Rxn and for Delayed type og GVH Rxn it's type IV hs rxn. But I am not sure about Subacute & Chronic types. ~Sam.

Graft rejection (aka HVG, note GVHD ~ that`s some other thing) is of 4 types Hyperacute~ reaction occurs due to preformed Antibody ~ Type II Hypersensitivity Accelerated~ reaction occurs due to reactivation of sensitized T cells (e.g. a second allograft from the same donor is applied to a sensitized recipient, rejection occurs in 5-6 days, since T cells are presensitized) ~ Type IV Acute~ reaction occurs due to primary activation of T cells (main cause), but antibodies might also play roles. I`m not sure if it`s a type IV, coz antibodies play role, and also T cells are not presensitized (someone please correct me) Chronic ~ reaction requires months to occur and the pathology involved is unclear...antibodies/immune complexes/slow cellular reaction etc. ~ so , not sure either.... Anyways, precisely, Hyperacute HVGD = Type II Accelerated HVGD = Type IV GVHD = Type IV
