How do you examine ROM in a back pain pt? If you are suspecting disk prolapse will you examine ROM?When one say rectal examination (say for acute/chronic diarrhoea) what does it mean? Why do one have to examine genitalia in a pt with dark urine?

For a patient with low back pain, if you suspect disc herniation you have to do a neuro examn on low extremities. If you suspect anchylosing spondilytis you have to do the Schober test, which measures the flexion of lumbar spine.
