A 12-year-old Caucasian adolescent male comes to you with the complaint of right knee pain and limping since 15 days. His height is at 60th percentile and weight is at 90th percentile. Examination of right knee joint is within normal limits but his hip movements are restricted and his foot points towards the left. There is marked external rotation of the right thigh on flexing the hip. After confirming the diagnosis by appropriate tests, which of the following is the most appropriate management of this condition?


A. Traction to right lower limb.
B. Conservative management with rest and NSAIDs.
C. Closed reduction of the hip joint.
D. Immediate osteotomy of the femoral neck.
E. External fixation of the hip joint with screws.

yes... slipped capital femoral epiphysis... patient is fat and adolescent
