At autopsy, a 60-year-old man is found to have a peripheral 7 cm area of golden-yellow consolidation on sectioning of the left lung. well it has to be Silicosis cos all the description is of PAP (Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis) which also looks like Silicosis but in silicosis normally on Autopsy we dont find a Golden appearence. this picture is more consistent with Lipid Pneumonias which is divided into 2 types Endogenous + Exogenous

but i wont be suprised if it turns out to be Adenocarcinoma bronchoalveolar type

it was quick as i remember that is squamous cell carcinoma, which obstructs bronchi and cause lipid pneumonia - destruction of lung tissue distal to the carcinoma i just never heard about it before this q

but the Sq. Cell Carcinoma is central while in the question its in the periphery and Secondly there is keratinization in the Sq.Cell Ca.
