25.n elderly man is involved in a rear end automobile collision in which he hyperextends his neck. He develops paralysis and burning pain of both upper extremities, while maintaining good motor function in his legs. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

B. Central cord syndrome

C. Posterior cord syndrome

it would be some sort of syringomelia... medial lemniscus and anterior horns are located in the anterior part of the spinal cord.. I am not saying you are wrong and I am not related to any of these terms so if any of you would explain each of the options, what they are and what they mean..

cENTRAL CORD: UPPER DEFICITS, SPARING LOWER EXTREMITIES.

In anterior cord syndrome: all functions are lost, except for positional and vibratory sense.

Posterior cord syndrome:loss of positional and vibratory sense.

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy:burning pain, not affect motion.

Hemisection of the spinal cord:loss of one set of functions on one side, and a different set of functions on the other side.
