well, google is not such a bad idea! there are basically 2 situations:

- you're still a student. This will def.give you better chances of finding one. But nobody will do the job for you.You start searching- web, phone calls. use also the word "clinical elective", "clerkship", they are all the same thing. When you do phone calls- contact medical education. same thing on the web- medical education are the people you want. But trust me, it is not going to be easy. They will request insurance(malpractice and health), vaccination records, dean's letter....etc,etc.And lots of them will say they don't take foreigners.Period. If you are not bound on place, you can extend your search as much as you want. Takes a lot of time, be prepared.

- you are a gradute. There is almost no chance you can get an externship(hands on experience). An observership at most. As a graduate you are in the grey zone-not a student in training anymore and not a licensed physician yet. Nobody will give you a malpractice insurance. You can still contact the hospitals and ask them about observership. Some still won't take you, HIPAA regulations etc.

So I don't know what your situation is, but whatever it is- it requires some work to get an externship/observership.

Good luck!
