usmle_taker2004 wrote: Dear fellows:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am beginning my preparation for step 3. I have seen that some people recommend Kaplan lecture notes for step 2 instead of step 3 Kaplan lecture notes. The format of step 3 notes is more case oriented and step 2 notes have more pages. Is there any advantage or special reason for using step 2 notes? Advices and opinions are welcomed Thanks usmle_taker2004
dear USMLE taker I am beginning my preparation for step 3 as well, I have seen both the notes, Step 3 notes are exactly the same as step2 but they are presented in a different manner I mean to say instead of directly feeding you the information step 3 notes make u think once cos they are presented in a question answer manner . If you have time then cover each topic from both the books, but if not then leave the step 3 book & do step2 notes+Crush the Boards step3+USMLE WORLD

You can use step 2 notes... just have in mind that differently from s2 which focus on diagnosis, s3 focus on management and follow up... highlight that type of information from your notes... As for the UW bank... do it!!! that is a must no questions about it. Good Luck!!!! My exam is on jan 16... and I'm finding a hard time to keep myself motivated. hehe

For CCS I am using mostly FA and adding some stuff from UW. I think FA is more straight forward and has enough of what you need to be up to the point. UW CCS has too much details.
