23 years old JOHN is brought to the emergency room byhis friends. JOHN appeared agitated and is restrained by 4 of his friends , who despite being powerful , are still struggling to hold him calm. his eyes appered rolling vertically and at times horizontally too. he yells at the physician, doc, i dont want any treatment ........let me out of here.
what is the most appropriate thing to do for the doctor?
a.strip him off his autonomy and detain him for 28 hours

he is under the influence of PCP (Phencyclidine).. these patients can harm others as they are physically powerful and agitated... we can detain him till he is out of the influence.

DETAIN PATIENTS , when they are harmful to themselves and others. a doctor can detain patients for 48 hours in either case.
