Hey Guys,

I have finally accepted a prematch (for internship+neuro) and now I am cancelling my prelim and neuro ivs.
I know most of you are interested in the prelim spots... the bad news is that I only have 2 of those left... for January 19 MGH and Feb 1. Hopkins/Sinai... Anyways, I am cancelling those, I hope it will be some help for someone else!

My question now is HOW TO WITHDRAW FROM THE MATCH? confused
I know it sounds silly and I am sure it is not that complicated either, but when I checked NRMP's website I could not figure it out... shaking head
Could someone, please, walk me through that process? Should I send a letter to NRMP or how does that work?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Best,

Mufurc

it's in NRMP, go to Update your profile, then you'll se options beside your name, there you'll see Withdraw, click it.

To confirm that you withdraw, check on the main page... match status: withdraw...

and that's it!!!

Enjoy your residency!!

mufurc,

which option did you choose?

Applicants status or out of match position???????????????rolling eyes

Thanks Guys.

TDR- I have chosen "non-NRMP position" because I thought that meant prematch. I think applicant's request, or whatever the other option is, meant something like I changed my mind, and let's say leaving the country or something else happened that will prevent me from accepting a position through the match...
I might have been wrong though... What do you think?

I agree with you, I think you choose the right one...People say it does not matter what you choose, just withdrawn...But I agree, I will do the same...

Thx again and congatulations.
