A 2-week-old male infant, of an African-American female, is brought to the office with complaints of fever and vomiting for the past 2 days. This baby was born at 32 weeks' gestation and weighed 2.7kg(6lb) at birth. He is being breast-fed and has appeared normal until 2 days ago.
