A 7-year-old male child is seen in the office with complaints of decreased visual acuity. On examination he is found to have 6 coffee-colored macules on his upper trunk, each measuring about 0.7 cm in diameter. He also has subcutaneous swellings on his right upper and lower extremities. On slit lamp examination there are nodular swellings protruding from the irises. The right optic disc is pale on fundoscopic examination. Which of the following statements is true regarding the condition described in this scenario?

A. The nodular swellings of the irises are most likely hamartomas
B. The ocular complaints are most likely to be due to a retinoblastoma
C. The child is at high risk for development of renal angiomyolipoma
D. The nodular swellings of the irises are most likely neurofibromas
