hello,
I'm also studying for ck & doing UW with it....can u plz tell me how r we supposed to review all the stuff from UW + kaplan lectures + crush in the next read...I mean these r 3 seperate books & it's gonna take so long to re read UW explanations or the notes taken from them.... ..
distraught with stress.

Good Morning everyone! I got up at 4am today to conquer(if that's the word) UW early.
My mind's fresher after a cup of coffee w/ toasted wheat bread & butter.Hmmm.
I will look at my goals differently from now on. I have been so lax & unmotivated. I have been reading sharvils & mymeghi's exam experiences & that helps to push myself even harder!!
When we are well prepared we are confident, if not, we fear. As simply as that & we all know it. Therefore, we work hard & not letting a day pass by WITHOUT learning at all.
By learning that's when we do the things that best suits us. Of course we can handle this exam, we would not have made it this far in our careers if we lacked the capacity.

I can only speak for myself, It took me 2 mos to finish 1 reading of Kaplan notes then I started UW plus Crush the Boards. I was also reading FA & Boards & Wards on the side but I concentrated on Crush bec I was getting overwhelmed & unmotivated & the Holidays was so hectic for me due to other family responsibilities. I realized I can;t do it anymore.. being negative so I thought of restarting my studies. I am still doing UW at least 3 blocks everyday ( #'s varies fr 25-46 depending on the subject that I'm doing) & reading crush w/c I just finished recently.
I did not take notes for UW yet, im planning to do that on my second UW review. I still have 800Qs undone so if my positive attitude continues as it is right now then I'll be able to finish it fast.
Let's be positive & work hard.. we can do this!! Good luck to you! Sima's advice works too. Read the first page of my journal;bottom page has her advise abt. UW.

Still going going going w/ UW. I will also start doing Mock Q's , 2 blocks per day starting today & UW at night.

Did 2 blocks of Mock Q's & 2 blocks of Hepatology fr UW. I noticed that the mock q's has"false/true q's" w/c aren't in the real exam anymore so i think I would concentrate more on UW & revise it as much as I can. So Pls. help me Lord!

Oh what a morning! I have drink 2 cups of coffee already just to keep me going.. I hope to do more q's today.
I have set to achieve my goal. it's me & me only who can fulfill it. No time to complain that I don't have time. There's 24 hrs. in a day, think about it. God gives me hope each day. I trust Him to help me accomplish my goal.

howz it going? how much of UW did you complete? Are you doing it online? subjectwise?
I started with UW on 15th Jan and so far done with psych,surgery,peds and small topics in IM. Will start OBG tomorrow, along with kaplan reading and hope to finish by sunday.

How's it going match. Yeah I'm still doing UW online subjectwise. I have not done Peds yet. Stucked w/ IM. This is something I can't rush.. I intend to do notes after the first round. Then Ill do nbme again. Hopefully I can take the exam by March.
I had a semi productive day yest. I hope to" full blast", "squeeze my brain hard", for the coming 4-6 weeks.

UW is USMLE WORLD, block of high yield q's that you can practice on. Available at usmleworld.com, price is cheaper than Kap qbank. Everyone's studying it bec. it's HY.

my prep is slower than expected i cant concentrate on these books the way i should but your prep journals inspire me, since i dont keep one of my own. how high are you scoring in UW? thanks and geep up your good work youll ace this test

my morning has been soo refreshing! I scored 70% on my UW Hem-Onc... A little pat on my shoulder. I did this test in a tutor mode so I guess my score will get lower if it's timed. I said I am using UW as a learning tool but let's be honest here, my mood changes & gets more inspired if I get scores like this. Looking back at my previous subjects I still need a lot of work in SURGERY!!! I'm pretty yoiked w/ that subject. So hopefully I will have enough time to do all my revisions. I SHOULD do revisions!!!!
AlexaE I will sched my exam in March & I'm glad to see you starting your prep. My UW scores varies... There are times I get 52% then my highest is this 70%. I have learned that when you are scoring low on certain subjects that's your priority.. learn it more, hit my head more by going back to Kaplan notes.
DrLuck, I think there's no specific subj. in UW for E.R.Med but there's the Surgery Trauma q's you can practice on. I have read somewhere in this forum that there's an Emed pretest so let's check on that.

had a really bad headache,its abt 3pm,planing to do peds bl untimed ,whtever i do,will do thoroughly & will revise soo,that's my goal.till now did CNS,respi UW in feb.revised only cns.

hope you're feeling better sima. I have not done Peds. yet. Getting there..
My kid's sick today so he has to stay home w/ me. I just hope & pray he ill get better soon. I can't stand his constant coughing.. Poor little boy. It breaks my heart to see him sick.

I hope your kid is feeling better today, i know how it is when your kids are sick you feel bad for them and can't do much and when they look at you with a dull face, its really sad. Hope today was productive. My kid decided not to go to school today(self proclaimed vacation..hmm) and so i had only half the time today.
Did quick review of kaplan rheumat and started UW questions, made 67% in tutor mode. Have to read explanations and take down notes by tonight.
