At first want to THANK Almighty Allah who made me able and apt to take the exam. After that all the forum members who posted their exam experience, discussions and reliable links for the important sites as well as the persons who are managing this forum.. I don’t want to specify anyone as everyone has a great effort whatever they posted. After failing first time I thought this exam is impossible to pass and imagine how people got 99 where my score was 73. But, after going through this site and reading staffs again & again I could make myself suitable to take my exam and I took it. So I want to share something with you, though you all know this but I want to. PREPARATION MATERIAL:
Kaplan-( people says that Kaplan does not cover this and that but I think it does. )
Dr. Goljan ( Salute to him),he made Pathology as suspense comedy. I got two teacher in my life who made most dreadful subject very easy for me.One was my organic chemistry teacher and 2nd one is Dr. Goljan.
Q Book Q Bank NBME all forms Prep4usmle forum.
EXAM: I found every question familiar except the test questions. It not mean that which questions I found hard is test question but it is like the questions is not for our level means something research staffs where you have to think one step further or need to study beyond this step to know them. Anyway, come to the point, if someone chew, engulf and digest Kaplan than I think the real exam is not that tough. Like food, you take prepared food but body again cook its own way by the help of enzymes for metabolism. Here in case of exam the food is Kaplan, q book and q bank AND the enzyme is your ability to think and feel about it. Guys, everything is there for exam. You just need to learn them sincerely & honestly. 30% questions is very easy like all can do that, 35% is at hard means you have to think. 20% is harder where you think one and will seem familiar to you but at the end you will get that wrong. In this case, you have in your mind that why did not I read that, it should have been known. 15% is the toughest which has no clue. Anyway, guys this exam is doable. So, don’t worry who are of my type and take a real effort to accomplish…Inshallah Allah is there to help you. Last of all; please pray for me to Allah to crown my effort in to success. Thanks again to all of you nice people on this earth for sharing your important thoughts and views….

I just wanted to know if you have used Goljan 2 volume book or the rapid review book.I have done the rapid review with audio and my exam is in march .Do answer me.

Hi doctja,
I used Pathology Review (Saunders Text and Review Series, 1998 by WB Saunders Company). and the lectures regarding that book which I downloaded from web. I tried to go through his High Yeild questions but after 100 questions I felt that I already know that. So, gone back to Q Bank which is very important, as I told that basics are known by all but questions of real exam wants more than that. If you cant feel what the question says than you are pretty much sure you are going to answer them wrong, what happened to me first time.Q Bank makes you to feel that.So, go through all the Kaplan books as well as Dr. Goljan and take some notes subject wise which you feel hard on second review, emphasis them again & again.ANd try to good hand on everything as there is no high yeild and everything is tested. and take NBME 20 days before your real exam to evaluate yourself, after that go through to your weakest points. And 7 days before exam try to feel good hand on NBME forms as well as USMLE cd.Please try to feel confident the day before your exam and dont cram anything on last day as it is very dangerous to screw your all effort. Overall, study with your own style which is most effective...
