Someone told me of this subject on the exam:

Does parity affect age of menopause?

For example who will reach menopasue earlier: a nulliparous woman, or a multiparous woman? Or does it not matter?

Thanks.

Thats the logic I was thinking also, but I read the following:
"At birth, a woman has about two million eggs in her ovaries, but by age 20 only 20,000 are left, which drop to 10,000 by age 40. It may sound like a lot, but most of these eggs will ultimately be reabsorbed by the ovaries by the time of menopause."
--So even if a woman is pregnant multiple times in her lifetime, saving a couple hundred or so eggs, this won't matter for the timing of menopause, because the number of eggs declines so drastically anyway... And menopause is brought on by the decline of hormones as a woman ages which will reabsorb any remaining eggs anyway regardless of how many are left...
Any other thoughts??

This is a paper published in American Journal of Epidemiology by The Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health,
it is long but it says the same as before about a little delay in menopause with increase the parity with the same general idea and some suggestions too ,i hope it may help.
