dear doctors i need ur guidance. i hav to appear for visa interview in saudi embassey in 2 months.
i m not doing any job n had not been doing job for the past 2 yrs i passed my step1 n now appearing for step2 in 2.5 months. i wanted ur guidance. Do they ask a person appearing for interview whether he is doing job n accept or reject the visa on the basis that thing thinking
that if they giv visa to that particular person then he/she may stay in usa n will not return back.
they want a letter from applicant's employer at the time of interview as they mentioned in the requirements so can i present my dad's employer letter that hez working here n my family is here so i will definately return back after the exam is this a sufficiant proof of my bonding with this country. i m not original saudia citizen but
living in saudia for many years.
i hav sufficiant preperation that i can pass exam but to get extra
ordinary marks i need these 2.5 months to study. so if i start house job now then my study may suffer to some extent. i dont hav LOR's so i need to do the job for that purpose too. my csa validity is till the biggening of july so i will also hav to give it in max june. if my visa gets rejected then i think i can apply after 3 months or may b 6 months so then my exam money will b wasted n time also lost. my time has already been wasted alot so i cant afford more.
so dear respected doctors i need ur guidance n help in
this regard.
best of luck for ur exams n residencies n everything.

hi drzhiv
regarding job im not sure as still to appear in an interview grin ...but if you are going for interview B4 ur step-2 then do carry your Orange Card with you of Step-2 ..as it will act as a proof that u have paid the fee and will come back and give the exam in your own country.
Many of my friends applied like that where their step2ck date was in India and they applied for visa B4 appearing in Step-2ck.
Hope it helps.....

hi mann,

thanks alot mann for ur instant reply. i agree with u that i should take step2ck my orange card with me at the time of interview n show them i m appearing in stepck also but the problem is my interview is in biggining of march n my step2ck is in end of march and my step2 cs in end of may. i kept this gap of 2.5 months between interview n cs date because name check process requires time. so when i go to usa my step2ck had already been finished so then step2ck letter will not b a sufficiant proof that i will return back from usa after giving CS. thats y they want applicants employer's letter to b sure that applicant will return back because he is already having a job in his country / visa applying country.
very best of luck for ur interviews smiling face

HI... will someone please tell me if in his/her visa interview he was being asked whether he is currently doing job at some hospital or not. n his application got rejected or he faced some problems just on that basis. as i know quite a few doctors r there who r not doing jobs at the time of stepcs visa interview. so if anyone can please guide me. i 'd b grateful. best wishes to all.

I have the same problem and don't know how to solve it.
If you have the way to do pls tell me via e-mail.

just one point though. Step 2CS has this rule that if you apply for the visa for CS and you get rejected, you can get your fee back on that ground!
good to know, eh? i am also appearing for the interview soon and i am nervous too smiling face

hi dragon fly. nice to hear from u. r u sure if some1 gets rejected for step2cs visa he gets his fee back from ecfmg. i think then he can use it again for some other exam or for the same exam of cs but with a new eligibility period of 1 year or wat is the rule? this is a new piece of information for me. so kindly tell a little detail abt it. n best wishes for ur interview n for ur residency bro. r u doing job somewhere? keep in contact n kindly let me know after interview wat did they ask in interview.i 'd b really grateful.

hi drzhiv the info is from the official bulliten for ECFMG.
it is found here : http://ecfmg.org/2007ib/ibgenreg.html#refunds

...Applicants registered for Step 2 CS who are unable to obtain the appropriate visa to enter the United States to take the exam may request a full refund of the exam fee...

unfortunately i don`t have any more details. that`s all they say on the website. thanks for the warm wishes. i have not yet gone to the embassy for the interview but will go probably in 2 months or so.
pray for me smiling face
God bless!
